Littleton Bible Chapel invites you to their Women’s Fall Conference 2017
Speaker– Courtney Reissig
"The Accidental Feminist: Restoring Our Delight in God's Good Design"
Few things have influenced our understanding of what it means to be a woman in our present cultural moment like the feminist movement. What began as a quest for equality has morphed into something very different. But for Christian women, we must understand that the roots of feminism were actually rooted in something other than equality. The birth of feminism launched an attempt to show that women have value in the world, but God’s word has been telling us that from the very beginning. In her messages, Courtney Reissig will show why feminism emerged (and the problems it attempted to address), but will point to God’s word as the answer for women, rather than a movement of the last two hundred years.

About Courtney Reissig
She is a wife, mom, writer, and occasional speaker. She is the author of “The Accidental Feminist” (Crossway 2015) and “Glory in the Ordinary” (Crossway 2017). Her writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, and Desiring God. She has a BA in English from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN (now the University of Northwestern – St. Paul) and did some graduate level study at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she met her husband, Daniel. She hopes to one day finish her M. Div (probably when she’s done wrangling her four young sons during the day). In 2011, they moved to Little Rock, AR to help plant Midtown Baptist Church, where her husband serves as one of the elders. Recently, she has started leading the women’s ministry of the church, which includes casting a vision for ministry among women in the church, leading and organizing bible study, and identifying and encouraging women who can teach the Bible in her congregation. If she has a spare moment, she really enjoys running, reading, and spending time with friends.
